Author Guidelines

Ethnomathica: Journal of Ethnomathematics Studies

1. Manuscript Formatting

Authors must prepare manuscripts according to the official template of Ethnomathica: Journal of Ethnomathematics Studies. The manuscript should follow the formatting requirements and structural guidelines established by the journal before submission.

General Formatting Requirements

  1. File Format: The manuscript must be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  2. Paper Size: The manuscript should be prepared using A4 paper size.
  3. Font: The manuscript should use Cambria, 11 pt font throughout the main text.
  4. Line Spacing: The manuscript should use 1.15 spacing with appropriate paragraph spacing.
  5. Alignment: The main text should be formatted using justified alignment.
  6. Margins: All margins should follow the official journal template.

Manuscript Structure

  1. Title: The title should be concise, specific, informative, and represent the main focus of the study.
  2. Author Information: Author names should be written without academic titles and accompanied by institutional affiliation and corresponding author information.
  3. Abstract: The abstract should provide a concise overview of the research background, objectives, methods, main findings, conclusion, and contribution of the study.
  4. Keywords: Authors should provide 3–6 keywords representing the main concepts of the article.
  5. Main Sections: The manuscript should consist of:
    Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Declarations, and References.

Tables, Figures, and References

  1. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and provided with clear titles or captions.
  2. All tables and figures must be referred to within the manuscript text.
  3. References and citations must follow the latest APA Style.
  4. Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero.

2. Submission Mechanism

A. OJS Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
  • Authors must upload two separate files:
    • Manuscript: Contains the main text, references, tables, figures, and supplementary materials.
    • Title Page: Contains title, author names, affiliations, ORCID, and corresponding author information.

B. File Formatting

  • All submitted files must be in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • The manuscript must follow the official journal template.

C. Ethical Considerations

  • Manuscripts must be original and not published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Authors must properly acknowledge all sources and maintain academic integrity.
  • Research involving participants must protect privacy and confidentiality.

3. Review and Publication Process

  • Submitted manuscripts will undergo editorial screening and peer review.
  • Authors will receive notification regarding review results and required revisions.
  • Accepted manuscripts will proceed to publication according to journal policy.

4. Final Notes

  • Language: Manuscripts should be written in clear and academic English.
  • Revisions: Authors may be required to revise manuscripts based on reviewer comments.
  • Plagiarism: Manuscripts containing plagiarism will be rejected according to journal policy.
