Retraction Policy
Ethnomathica: Journal of Ethnomathematics Studies
Ethnomathica: Journal of Ethnomathematics Studies is committed to maintaining the integrity, reliability, and completeness of the scholarly record. Although authors, editors, and reviewers make every effort to ensure the quality and accuracy of published articles through rigorous peer review, exceptional circumstances may require corrections, retractions, or other editorial actions.
Retraction, correction, clarification, and withdrawal of published articles are handled carefully and transparently to preserve academic trust and maintain the reliability of scientific literature.
The journal follows the principles and procedures recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Retraction Guidelines.
Article Retraction
Ethnomathica may retract published articles when serious issues are identified that compromise the validity, reliability, or ethical integrity of the research.
An article may be considered for retraction under the following circumstances:

Retraction Process
1.
A potential case requiring retraction is reported to and reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief.

The findings are evaluated by the Editorial Board to ensure a fair and consistent decision.

The final decision regarding retraction is communicated to authors and relevant parties when necessary.

Ethnomathica may issue corrections when errors are identified that affect the accuracy, interpretation, or integrity of published articles but do not invalidate the overall findings.
Corrections may take the following forms:

Article Removal
In exceptional circumstances, Ethnomathica may remove a published article from its online platform when continued availability creates serious legal, ethical, or public risks.
Article removal may occur when:
• The article contains defamatory content.
• The article violates legal rights, privacy rights, or intellectual property regulations.
• The article is subject to legal restrictions or court orders.
• The content presents serious risks if applied or misinterpreted.
Article Replacement
In rare cases where a published article contains information that may cause serious harm if applied, authors may request replacement with a corrected version.
The replacement process follows the same ethical evaluation procedures as article retraction. The original article remains part of the scholarly record, while the retraction notice provides a link to the corrected version together with the documented publication history.
